Terms of Service

These Terms of Service ("Terms") govern your use of the Kori mobile application ("Kori" or the "App") operated by BDKM LLC ("we," "us," or "our"). By creating an account or using Kori, you agree to these Terms.

1. Eligibility

You must be at least 13 years old to use Kori. If you are between 13 and 18 years old, you must have permission from a parent or guardian. By using the App, you represent that you meet these requirements.

2. Your Account

• You are responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of your account credentials.
• You are responsible for all activity that occurs under your account.
• You must provide accurate information when creating your account.
• You may delete your account at any time by contacting us at support@heykori.app.

3. Your Content

• You own your content. All journal entries, mood data, media, and other content you create in Kori belongs to you.
• License to us. By using Kori, you grant us a limited license to store, process, and display your content solely for the purpose of providing the service to you. We do not use your content for any other purpose.
• Backup & export. You can export your data at any time using the in-app backup feature.
• Content standards. You agree not to use Kori to store content that is illegal, harmful, or violates the rights of others.

4. Subscriptions & Payments

• Free tier: Kori offers a free tier with limited features.
• Paid tiers: Kori Plus and Kori Pro are available as monthly or annual subscriptions.
• Payment processing: All payments are handled by the Apple App Store or Google Play Store. We do not process payments directly.
• Auto-renewal: Subscriptions automatically renew unless cancelled at least 24 hours before the end of the current billing period.
• Cancellation: You may cancel your subscription at any time through your device's App Store or Play Store settings. Cancellation takes effect at the end of the current billing period.
• Refunds: Refund requests are handled by Apple or Google according to their respective refund policies.
• Price changes: We may change subscription prices. You will be notified in advance, and price changes will take effect at the start of your next billing period.
• Trial period: If offered, free trial terms will be displayed before you subscribe. You will not be charged during the trial period.

5. AI Features

• Kori uses artificial intelligence to provide journaling prompts, mood detection, entry summaries, voice transcription, and other features.
• AI-generated content (prompts, summaries, reflections) is provided for informational and wellness purposes only.
• AI output is not professional advice. Kori is not a substitute for professional medical, psychological, or therapeutic advice. If you are experiencing a mental health crisis, please contact a qualified professional or emergency services.
• AI features are powered by third-party services (OpenAI). Your use of AI features is also subject to their terms of service.

6. Acceptable Use

You agree not to:

• Use Kori for any unlawful purpose
• Attempt to access another user's account or data
• Reverse engineer, decompile, or disassemble the App
• Interfere with or disrupt the App's servers or infrastructure
• Use automated systems (bots, scrapers) to access the App
• Circumvent subscription restrictions or feature limits

7. Intellectual Property

• The Kori name, logo, design, and code are the property of BDKM LLC.
• You may not copy, modify, distribute, or create derivative works of the App without our written permission.
• Your content remains your property (see Section 3).

8. Disclaimer of Warranties

Kori is provided "as is" and "as available" without warranties of any kind, either express or implied, including but not limited to warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, or non-infringement.

We do not warrant that:

• The App will be uninterrupted, error-free, or secure
• AI-generated content will be accurate or appropriate
• Your data will never be lost (we recommend regular backups)

9. Limitation of Liability

To the maximum extent permitted by applicable law, BDKM LLC shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, including but not limited to loss of data, loss of profits, or emotional distress, arising from your use of or inability to use the App.

Our total liability to you for any claims arising from your use of Kori shall not exceed the amount you paid us in the 12 months preceding the claim.

10. Indemnification

You agree to indemnify and hold harmless BDKM LLC from any claims, damages, losses, or expenses (including reasonable legal fees) arising from your use of the App or violation of these Terms.

11. Termination

• We may suspend or terminate your access to Kori if you violate these Terms.
• You may stop using Kori and delete your account at any time.
• Upon termination, your right to use the App ceases. We will retain your data for 30 days after account deletion before permanent purge, unless required by law to retain it longer.

12. Changes to These Terms

We may update these Terms from time to time. If we make material changes, we will notify you through an in-app notice. Your continued use of Kori after changes take effect constitutes acceptance of the updated Terms.

13. Governing Law

These Terms are governed by the laws of the United States. Any disputes arising from these Terms or your use of the App shall be resolved in the courts of the state in which BDKM LLC is registered.
